Three Good Reasons we love October in Canada

Three Good Reasons we love October in Canada

Let it 'fall'

Without a doubt one of the best times to visit and enjoy Canada would be the Fall season. We start seeing the change of colours in September but it is October that this magical colour transformation reaches its peak. This year we are also blessed with an unusually warm weather and lots of sunshine which makes it the best time to visit our parks to truly appreciate the beauty of our country. You would also able to witness and enjoy this right in the city.

Another reason to love October is Diwali

Diwali is the Indian “festival of lights”—a holiday that celebrates the triumph of good over evil. Every year, Hindus celebrate Diwali to mark the victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and happiness over despair. The festival of lights, also known as Deepavali, is observed with much pomp across the country. People decorate their homes with diyas, rangoli, ornaments and lights, eat delicious sweets and dishes, wear new traditional clothes, observe rituals, perform puja, and more. According to Hindu mythology, Diwali marks the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya after defeating Ravana and completing 14 years in exile. People commemorate the festival of lights by praying to Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Ganesh and Lord Kubera to bless them with health, wealth and prosperity.

Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

There is yet another reason why we love October as it gives us the opportunity to shed light and help raise funds for a disease that causes 5500 deaths in Canada. Breast Cancer Awareness month, is a health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. This gives us another good reason to love October.

It is estimated that in 2022: 28,600 Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. This represents 25% of all new cancer cases in women in 2022. 5,500 Canadian women will die from breast cancer.

And at Proteq Medical, we make October count.

Join us as we donate 25% of our proceeds made through our Pink product sales to one of the charitable organizations we love and care, The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.

Stay well!
